Privacy notice

This notice explains how BB Foundation handles personal information submitted through its website and BB Scholars Programme.

Information we collect

We may collect identity and contact information, date of birth, education records, financial-circumstance information, personal statements, referee and guardian details, consent records, and supporting documents. We also keep application status, assessment and audit records needed to operate the programme.

Why we use it

We use information to receive, verify and assess applications; contact applicants, guardians and referees; administer awards; prevent misuse; protect applicants; meet legal duties; and maintain accountable programme records. We do not condition support on conversion, church membership, publicity or political support.

Children and guardians

The programme accepts eligible secondary students. Where an applicant is under 18, we collect the guardian information and declaration required to process the application and support safeguarding. Minor records and documents are restricted to authorised people.

Who receives information

Access is limited to authorised Foundation administrators and reviewers, and service providers that host, secure or deliver the application service. We may contact a named school, referee or guardian to verify information. We do not sell applicant information.

Documents and security

Application documents are held in private storage. Access is authorised and time-limited. We use reasonable organisational and technical measures, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Applicants should use only the official website and should not send documents through unofficial accounts.

Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for selection, award administration, safeguarding, accountability, dispute handling and applicable legal duties. Final retention periods remain subject to the Foundation's approved records schedule.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct your information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis used, or raise a concern. Some records may need to be retained where the Foundation has another lawful reason.

Changes

We may update this notice when the programme or legal requirements change. The version and effective date will be shown on this page.
